Ingredients:
Rice - 1 cup
Water - 2 cups
Oil/ghee - 2 teaspoon
Jerra - 1 teaspoon
Salt - as per taste
Cooking time: 15-20 mins
Soak
washed rice for about 10-15 mins. You may want to stick to the rice
water measurement of 1:2 this time to ensure that we dont end up with
over cooked or clumpy rice.
I am using the pressure cooker method to cook jeera rice.
Add
2 teaspoon Oil/ghee to a warm pressure cooker and jeera. Once the jeera splutter add 2 cups of water. You may then add the washed, soaked rice. Add the
desired salt and you may start pressure cooking.
I generally cook the rice for 2 whistles in pressure cooker.
You may serve this with peas masala.
