Ingredients:
Pudina/Mint leaves - 1 cup
Kadalai paruppu/Gram dhal - 1 teaspoon
Ulundu/Urad dhal - 1 teaspoon
Coconut - 3/4 cup
Green chilies - 2
Garlic - 2
Ginger - a small piece
Salt - as per taste
Water - as needed for grinding
Red chilies - 2 for seasoning
Mustard seeds - 1/4 teaspoon
Curry leaves - few
Oil - 2 teaspoon
In a small pan warm up 1 teaspoon of oil and roast kadai paruppu and ulundu till they turn a little brown. Do not let it to burn. To this add in the washed pudina/mint leaves, coconut, green chilies, garlic & ginger. Do not roast them for a long time, instead just warm them up and turn off the heat.
Let his cool down a little bit and then ground it into a thick paste. You may add a little water while grinding.
In a small kadai, lets prepare for seasoning. Warm up 1 teaspoon of oil and add mustard seeds, once it spurts add in the curry leaves & red chilies. To this you may add the ground pudina/mint mixture and add salt. Add salt, give it a good mix and turn off the heat.
This tastes good with idli and dosa.
