How to make easy cabbage kootu - amma's style?

Ingredients:
Cabbage - a small one chopped
Moong dhaal - 1/2 cup
Shallots - 5
Garlic - 3 pods
Jeera - 1/4 teaspoon
Coconut - few to grind
Green chilies - 2 (or as per need)
Mustard seeds - 1/4 teaspoon
Curry leaves - few
Coriander leaves - few chopped
Water - 1 cup
Oil - for tempering

In a pressure cooker, cook washed moong dhaal with a couple of shallots & garlic for 2 or 3 whistles and keep it aside.

In a blender, grind rest of the shallots, jeera, coconut pieces & green chilies with a little amount of water.

In a pan warm up oil and add mustard seeds. Once they spurt add in the curry leaves and chopped cabbage. Saute it for a few minutes and then pour in the cooked dhaal. Mix the cabbage and dhaal well for a few more mins.
To this pour in the ground coconut mix along with salt. Add in a cup of water and cook the cabbage for 7-10 mins. Finally add on the coriander leaves and serve.

I love this dhaal with just white rice or you could have this as side dish for puzhi kulambu.
